Land Stewardship
Land conservation has always been a priority of U4EA Ranch Enterprises, Inc. From the ranch’s inception, the Rasnow family has cherished the place it calls home in the Santa Monica Mountains, with its expansive views of the ocean, islands, valleys, and mountains, along with the magical beauty of nature close-up. As part of the newly created Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area, and occupying a prominent ridge overlooking the Conejo Valley, the Rasnow family knew the importance of land conservation to others, as well. For decades, the Rasnow family had granted permission to the Conejo Valley Recreation and Parks District to construct and maintain a hiking, biking and equestrian trail across the north facing slope of the ranch so members of the public could enjoy for themselves the serenity of nature in this coastal mountain setting.
In or about 2009, the Rasnow family formally offered to donate to the Conejo Open Space Conservation Agency (“COSCA”) the northern slope of the ranch, and in or about 2019 the donation of 82 acres was completed with the recordation of grant deeds conveying title to COSCA. The Rasnow family hopes that the public will continue to enjoy the peace and solitude of nature on the Los Robles Trail for generations to come, and that it will inspire in others a passion to protect this natural world we have been gifted.
